PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is located on the Eurasian landmass, between the Russian Federation, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Central Asia. Due to its strategic positioning, ever-growing Han Chinese population, economic might, and militaristic determination, the PRC is emerging as a central player in global affairs. Today, growing assertiveness and ambitions have caused policymakers in Beijing to clash with their counterparts in the United States, indicating that the future between the two nations may not be entirely friendly. Key to the continued success of the People’s Republic of China is the maintenance of internal order, sustainment of economic growth, security of territorial sovereignty and claims, and the international acknowledgement of China as a great power.
