Zhaoyu-Class Patrol Ship



The twelve Zhaoyu-class patrol ships currently in service with the China Coast Guard Bureau (CCGB) offer the People's Republic of China enhanced long-distance fishery enforcement capabilities and serve as potential assets for gray zone conflict. Partially based on the Type 056 Corvette, the Zhaoyu boasts a purpose-built long-distance cruising hull and propulsion system. Furthermore, the design indicates that this class was created for operations well outside of Chinese waters, including contested areas.
